Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a UI/UX/AODA Specialist
 
UI/UX/AODA Specialist (57899438)
 
Contract Duration: (5 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Responsible for testing/auditing online information for compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and other accessibility standards
• Evaluate web sites for accessibility standards compliance and best practices and conduct quality assurance testing
• Create and/or review project deliverables (wireframes, content decks, design comps, and front-end code etc)
• Develop accessibility techniques/examples for new/existing Web technologies
• Consult with product/internal development teams to help them make their Web content accessible
• Provide training, expertise and guidance to the development team to optimize front-end code for accessibility
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• Considerable experience in large complex public organizations with multiple lines of business
• Certified in or very experienced with WCAG 2.0 (W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0)
• Proficient in AODA 2005 Act, Section 508, W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, HTML Accessibility
• Experience with Web Accessibility validation tools
• Deep knowledge of current and pending accessibility related standards, regulations, and policies
• Experience in the design of accessible websites across a range of technologies and type of devices (e.g. desktop, mobile)
• Ability to communicate well at all levels: employees, management, customers
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal to gather information from user communities to gain intimate understanding of how people access and understand information
• Must have a passion about the end-user experience, new technologies and work on challenging design problems and propose solutions
• Experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, AJAX, Bootstrap or other similar frameworks
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or similar products
• Experience with UI/UX modelling tools
