Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Senior Project Control Officer
Senior Project Control Officer (57901521)
Contract Duration: (8 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
• Supports the Program Manager in planning, executing, controlling and closing phases of the program. Participates in PMO planning and development sessions (strategic, tactical plans, budgeting)
• Analysis to extensively monitor the milestone reports o that any impacts to schedule can be escalated to the Program Manager.
• Completes weekly Schedule Variance reports and PCO Project Status Reports and Scorecards. Prepare Weekly PMO Report package, including Program Status Summary, Milestones Reports.
• Provide customized reports for key program leaders and management team
• Supports Project Manager to monitor the Action Items Log, Risks Tracking Log, Issues Tracking Log, Change Requests Log, and Decisions Log
• Assist IT Project Managers in the development, management and ongoing maintenance of IT Project Schedules. Assists Project Managers in identifying inter-project and task dependencies and constraints.
• Conduct weekly risk assessment of the project schedule highlighting high risks to key deliverables and resource conflicts.
• Assist IT PM in doing “what if” scenarios on schedule to recover any slippages identified.
• Provide ongoing coaching and training to the IT Project Managers on Project Management best practices; phase planning,
• effective Project Execution Methods and Proactive Risk Management Techniques and Mitigation Strategies as it relates to Schedule Management
• Provide ongoing training to PM on maintaining and monitoring detailed project schedule
Required Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Project Management Certification
• MBA would be an asset
• Knowledge of large Program Management Framework (LPgMF) and Program Management Framework (PMF) best practices
• 5-10 years’ experience as a Project Control Officer on enterprise-wide programs
• 10+ years previous experience as a Project Manager managing projects and project schedules
• 10+ years’ experience implementing enterprise-wide Information Technology programs
• 10+ years corporate work experience in a Financial Services organization
