Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Data Migration/Conversion Analyst
Data Migration/Conversion Analyst (57999189)
Contract Duration: (3 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
• Assist in the design, planning, execution and validation of the data migration process
• Works with customers in gathering scope of data to be migrated, the format and structure of the data, business rules
• Identify source data requirements and quality
• Performs source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping
• Data cleansing and de-duplication
• Work with data owners to verify and obtain approval that any transformed data retains its accuracy
• Manage relationship with key data owners as required. Analyze post-migration user feedback and incorporate it into data migration procedure and quality control
• Adhere to best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities
• Analyze multiple data sources to determine what can be converted and how long it will take
• Maps and specifies the required transformations from the source data to the target data
• Write functional analysis document
• Provide documentation for all data sets
• Record test results and data audit trail
• Quality assurance testing on the data migration tool
Required Qualifications/Experience
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent levels of work experience
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in data migration, database administration, data analysis or systems integration
• Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience of performing complex source and target data analysis, cleansing and transformation in a phased data migration project
• Experience in Oracle Database, Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL Server, Mainframe, AS400 and other data sources is a strong asset
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, written and spoken
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong understanding and execution knowledge of the Migration project lifecycle
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Functional analysis experience is an asset
• Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
• Experience and understanding of cultural diversity and the ability to manage culturally diverse teams / individuals.
