Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Data/Business Intelligence Architect
 
Data/Business Intelligence Architect (58015760)
 
Contract Duration: (3 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Ensure assigned project deliverables completed on time and meet quality expectations
• Consult with divisional stakeholders through appropriate means throughout the project to establish full representation of current environment, identification of current data issues, and development of action plans
• Provide leadership and apply systems and data integration expertise in the documentation of current state environment and to guide development of future state high level design based on relevant and modern data analysis practice
• Assist by providing data/BI architecture expertise and input in development the Data Architecture and Data Integration Modernization Strategy (Phase 1 of Business Plan) by end of 2017 to establish direction and steps for improving efficiency by eliminating manual data tracking and streamlining reporting, while improving effectiveness by informing decision making with direct access to relevant, consistent, and timely data
• Follow established practices for ensuring requirements, future state strategies and action plans are well organized and traceable
• Ensure TFS's data architecture and BI strategic directions align with the client's Enterprise Architecture and directions, corporate Electronic Service Delivery Architecture Framework, Open Data, Information Management directions, corporate Strategy, IT policies and standards
• Provide input in to development of capital projects business cases if necessary
• Identify opportunities and tools to improve internal operational efficiency and effectiveness, executive information management and reporting, planning and decision making process, and internal communication and collaboration
• Obtain stakeholder and project Steering Committee's sign-off on key deliverables; and
• Perform other duties as required.
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• University degree in computer science or related discipline, and 5+ years of 'progressively more responsible' experience working on large-scale information technology projects or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Demonstrated experience to document high-level data and BI architecture environment including data asset inventory, data flow diagrams, track data issue/opportunities aligned to business context
• 5+ years; working experience and ability to perform requirements gathering, impact analysis, interview subject matter experts, facilitate joint-application-design sessions, and mapping of business processes
• 5+ years' working experience and ability to evaluate and document data architecture, business workflow, procedures, roles & responsibilities and integration & conversion strategies
• Demonstrated analytical skills in assessing and reviewing business processes to identify options, best practices, and opportunities to improve service delivery
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with client staff and senior management
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective consulting relationship with clients and other business organizations with a strong customer service orientation
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team
• Experience in a government/public sector setting with mobile computing projects
