Change Management Consultant (58540865)
 
Contract Duration: (12 months)
Location: Guelph, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Create, write and share overall change management plan:
• The candidate will work directly with the internal Change Lead to develop internal change management capacity for current and future projects
• Deliver CM coaching and support including (but not limited to):
• Work with the internal Change Lead to recommend the integration of CM activities into the overall project plan
• Provide guidance and recommendations to the internal Change Lead in identifying and enumerating items of change. Make recommendations to revise and evolve CM plans as project progresses
• Provide advice, recommendations and potentially hands-on support to the internal Change Lead in assessing the client’s capacity and readiness for change and developing appropriate CM plans. This should include, at a minimum:
• A review of project-related change efforts to date, as requested
• Individual assessments of readiness to lead change of approximately 12 client leaders (project leadership team, project Steering Committee and remaining Senior Executive team members), as requested
• An overall assessment of supervisory and front-line staff’s readiness for change and ability to lead team through change (for impacted groups), as requested
• Completion of ongoing change identification and associated impact assessments, identifying what, who, how and when different stakeholder groups will be impacted
• Support internal Change Lead in conducting stakeholder analysis on impacted individuals, groups and departments, identifying any resistance and root-cause of resistance (may include but not limited to assessments, questionnaires, focus groups, one-on-one meetings etc,)
• Attend regular meetings (in-person and via phone) with internal Change Lead and/or key stakeholders
• Provide written recommendations describing opportunities and risk related to the people side of change
• Review of change management materials providing verbal and written recommendations
• Provide change management tools and resources, as required
• Facilitate on-site sessions with stakeholders, as required
• For example: Internal team has identified a group that is resistant to the change, external consultant could facilities an onsite session/focus group
• Provide advice and recommendation on most effective approach to engaging business SMEs/change agents
• Provide guidance, expertise and recommendations in the development of training plans and materials, as requested
• Provide guidance, expertise and recommendations in the development of communication plan(s), as requested
• Provide additional advice, recommendations and support relative to the deliverables outlined above, as requested
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• Significant expertise and experience applying Prosci change management principles and methodologies in support of medium-large scale organizational transformations
• Experience in supporting large-scale systems implementation initiatives driving business process changes (hands-on experience with Guidewire products is preferred)
• Experience supporting change initiatives within the business risk management/insurance industry
• Understanding of business process analysis and design
• Extensive experience as a change agent leading cross-functional teams through complex change from concept to execution
• Experience creating and implementing CM strategies and plans utilizing Prosci best practice principles, processes and tools including but not limited to:
o Readiness (change impact assessments)
o Resistance management
o Training
o Communications
o Reinforcement and recognition
• Ability to train and mentor individuals in CM methodologies and tactical processes
• Familiarity with Agile Project Management methodology, an asset
• Public Sector experience, an asset
