Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Front-End Developer
Front-End Developer (Angular) (59128126)
Contract Duration: (6 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
• Code, test and implement front-end solutions using an Angular 2 stack to meet business requirements
• Gather project requirements, handle priorities and produce delivery estimates
• Planning and allocating work to meet project deadlines
• Help maintain code quality and best practices across the Front-End team
• Creation of intuitive, robust, and reusable user interfaces using VanillaJS and modern frameworks
• Work with designers to maintain brand consistency and interface guidelines
• Code high quality solutions that will enhance or simplify existing processes
• Contribute to team discussions and stand-ups
• Mentor other developers, and share knowledge with the broader team
• Provide On-site implementation support
Required Qualifications/Experience
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Intermediate understanding of responsive/mobile-first design, web standards, UI/UX best practices
• Experience working with Angular 2 applications (other single page framework experience also an asset)
• Understanding of CSS architecture and methodology such as SMACSS, BEM, OOCSS
• Understanding of Accessibility best practices, standards and testing on different devices
• Intermediate level experience of CSS pre-processor (e.g. Sass, Less)
• Some experience with client-side templating (e.g. Mustache, Handlebars, Jade)
• Experience with source control (e.g. Git, SVN)
• Intermediate Experience with Node.js
• Experience working with data-handling using AJAX, JSON, and REST API
• Familiar with build tools such as Grunt or Gulp
• Experience with cross-browser development within a large web application
• Understanding of client-side performance and browser performance profiling
• Familiar with designer tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator
• Familiar with front-end testing and debugging tools (Chrome Developer Tools, etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge of client-side performance analysis and optimization techniques
• Github account with a Portfolio for demonstration and review
