Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Content Writer
 
Content Writer (59318281)
 
Contract Duration: (3 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Develop and supervise the development of consumer-facing content and associated communications ensuring that content is written in a customer-first, sales- and service-oriented tone
• Propose the development of templates and processes to create a sound framework for project/initiative engagement from a content/communication perspective
• Prepare and maintain product content and material such as, but not limited to, operational documentation, in-app flow copy, user guides, manuals and decks
• Produce and/or edit content ensuring it complies with documentation plan requirements
• Develop and test user scenarios focused on how to use the product being documented
• Respond to editorial and reviewer feedback as many times as necessary to meet legal, privacy, and stakeholder requirements
• Review and edit a variety of writing for both grammar and accuracy. This may include marketing copy, online content such blog articles, technical documents, emails and text messages, marketing landing pages, FaceBook and Google ads, among other content types.
• Provide feedback on web and mobile designs and structures
• Provide communication advice, coaching and support on communication standards, tools and channels and processes to product owners, project managers, and other key team members
• Share best practices and builds strong relationships with marketing and other communication groups within and outside of the client, focusing on providing a consistent client experience
• Approve communications to be posted across channels
• Engage legal and compliance and other internal resources/teams as required to mitigate legal and regulatory risk
• Actively seek opportunities to improve/enhance existing content on solutions underdevelopment or in market
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in a relevant field (i.e., English, Journalism, Communications). Advanced degree in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, visual design and/or human-centered design, or related field is preferred.
• 6+ years proven experience in content writing
• Portfolio demonstrating writing skills and experience (i.e., web/mobile content, copy, communication materials, articles, marketing campaigns, etc.)
• Proven online content writing experience (consumer-facing)
• Experience in advertising and/or communications
• Experience with technical writing and copy editing
• Experience and success in startup environments is a plus
• Working knowledge and experience writing in French (optional)
• Possesses an effective writing style that is fresh and customer friendly
• Strong research, editing and proof reading skills
• Expert ability to write in a variety of formats and styles for multiple audiences
• Expert ability to write web and mobile content without prior existing content
• Thorough knowledge of UI, UX and graphic design principles, both for print and web production
• Strong documentation and process-management capabilities
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office. Expertise in MS Word is required
