Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Communications Specialist
 
Communications Specialist (59365283)
 
Contract Duration: (7 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Support the evolution of business strategy and related priorities from a communications perspective
• Support development of annual priorities and long-term consolidated strategy
• Contribute in the identification and prioritization of strategic initiatives across the organization
• Contributes in event coordination for strategic programs, initiatives and sessions:
• Plan events supporting (Town Halls, Road Shows, Analyst presentations, etc)
• Includes setting agenda / theme, identification and booking of speakers, and managing venue bookings, including coordination of food/beverage, audio/visual, general on-site day-of coordination, working with venues, their vendors and internal parties (AV, cafeteria, RSVPs)
• Facilitate a culture of open and honest communication by actively participating in and contributing to the generation of new ideas and approaches
• Build effective working relationships with key partners within and beyond Canadian Wealth Management, Global Communication, Finance, Operations, Compliance, HR, Marketing, and others
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Canada's financial services marketplace
• Knowledge of the Canadian Bank and other channel partner strategies / structures
• Understand the value of research and analysis to support / identify issues and solutions and possess strong analytical and research capabilities
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective business relationships
• Ability to negotiate and influence diverse stakeholders with competing priorities
• Competent and proven change agent with outstanding interpersonal / team motivation
• Communications objective-setting, planning, coordination and collateral development
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and statistical analysis
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
• Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, business, marketing or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience required
