Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Java/Spring Engineer
 
Java/Spring Engineer (59482343)
 
Contract Duration: (6 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Understand industry direction, features and challenges and impact to solutions and business strategy
• Develops criteria to evaluate third-party products and exercises due diligence as required
• Develops feasibility studies and proposals for senior management and executive decisions on large, complex projects
• Help identify development issues and facilitate resolution during sprints and escalate to peer review when appropriate
• Act as an in-house product development expert to support and coach Agile working teams; advise working teams on product specific coding issues and help resolve technology challenges
• Identify and recommend new cost-effective application development solutions to meet business objectives
• Identifies opportunities to leverage cross-project knowledge, best practices and reusability to expedite projects
• Contributes to technical documentation; prepare high-level estimates and high-level design documents.
• Reviews SOW, ASRA, MTP, technical estimates, TDD and project planning documents. Contributes where applicable.
• Prepare all internal technical estimates at various gates
• Reviews detailed design specifications and technical estimates of interfacing teams
• Manages all aspects of development, code reviews, and ensuring required tasks are performed
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• Experience on large projects or programs interfacing with multiple applications and/or third-parties in a senior technical role.
• Software analysis and design
• Application development
• Risk assessment and quantification
• Strong interpersonal and consulting skills
• Oral, written communication and presentation skills
• A thorough understanding of Object Oriented Web application architecture
• Strong understanding of interactive application development paradigms: memory management, file I/O, network programming and multi-threading
• Experience using SVN and GIT
• Experience with Middleware technologies such as: MQSeries, Websphere, HTTP, Webservices (SOAP and REST), RESTful Web Services, REST Client/POSTMan
