Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Business Analyst
Business Analyst (60027723)
Contract Duration: (12 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
• Developing a strong working relationship and effective communication with business and IT, and members of the Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit (ACAT)
• Creating detailed process descriptions, models, and other related artifacts defining the current Wheel- Trans business processes and the function of the various Wheel-Trans systems
• Documenting future Wheel-Trans business processes, designed in conjunction with the Wheel-Trans leadership team, which align with the strategic initiatives mapped out in the Wheel-Trans 10-Year Strategy and Wheel-Trans Transformation Program
• Conducting fit/gap analysis between the current functionality of the various Wheel-Trans process and systems, and the future state business processes
• Acting as a liaison between the four major operating units within Wheel-Trans and IT Services staff to provide input and feedback into how the various existing Wheel- Trans systems and future system(s) can achieve desired business functions and strategic objectives
• Understanding how the impact of changes in one segment of the Wheel-Trans systems will impact other business processes
• Acting as a Wheel-Trans Subject Matter Expert (SME) for requested changes to the various Wheel- Trans systems
• Creating presentations, diagrams, reference material, and provide training to business users when required
• Working with the vendors and architects to ensure solution will meet the business needs and requirements if necessary
• Detailed process descriptions, models, presentations, workflow diagrams, fit/gap analysis; reference material, and training aids
• Input to and feedback on defining and improving system specifications to meet business objectives
• Preparation of the business requirements portion of procurement-related documents such as Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP)
• Business model life cycle management deliverables as it applies to project and business documentation
• Other project duties as assigned
Required Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Information and Computing, Software Engineering, Business, or equivalent and related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of Business Analysis experience, preferably with projects involving accessible transit-based computer systems
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business process analysis, design, mapping and formal documentation
• Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), specifically with regards to Transportation Standards (Part IV) and Specialized Transportation Service Providers (Part IV, paragraphs 63 through 74)
• Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders specifically with regards to disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers
• Major IT implementation experience and understanding of how systems are affected by business process change
• Experience in process analysis, defining business and systems requirements, and modelling in a complex environment
• Ability to work well and communicate effectively with people from diverse communities – business, project, IT Support staff, and others
• High level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage and influence stakeholders
• Expert using MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Experience using SharePoint 2010 as a user for creating and updating documents, tasks, and workflows
• Formal training on AODA – Customer Service Standard and Integrated Standards is preferred
• Real world experience utilizing a major process optimization framework such as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, etc. is an asset
• CBAP certification or equivalent formal training in business analysis is an asset
• Transit experience would be an asset
