Modis, on behalf of our client is looking for a Content Writer
Content Writer (60989545)
Contract Duration: (6 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
• Participate in group brainstorms and ideation sessions
• Demonstrate to your colleagues how content shapes our clients’ experience of the product or service we put before them
• Work closely with business stakeholders to become a subject matter expert on what we’re offering
• Apply all the tools available in your strategic kit: content audits, competitive analyses, content mapping, generative and evaluative research
• Collaborate closely with Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, Design Strategists, Front-end Developers and Product Managers to shape the value proposition of the experiences we design and build
• Develop concepts and plans for client testing
• Consider how shaping our content thoughtfully will make our experiences accessible to all of our clients, including those who rely on assistance technologies
• Write really well, finding the best ways to bring the client’s digital voice to life as you help clients to do what matters most to them
• Demonstrate an elevated ability to describe technical processes simply and to distill a lot of information into a few clear statements
Required Qualifications/Experience
• A post-secondary education, ideally with a university degree or college diploma
• At least 4 years of writing experience at a creative agency or with an in-house creative team
• Experience writing for a variety of digital platforms, from practical software tools to promotional media
• Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• An aptitude for self-starting, for discovering what needs to be done, even when no one else sees it
• Comfort with thinking critically: you like to take apart complicated ideas and to put them back together in different configurations; you strive to recognize the biases that you and your colleagues bring to the process and to find ways to correct for them
• An eagerness to collaborate with colleagues, from other design disciplines and your own, as well as from other parts of the larger product team
• A willingness to challenge the opinions of the group with respect and the comfort to receive those same challenges from others
• An understanding of how to base your design decisions on practical evidence, rather than on opinions or personal biases
• An ability to manage your workload and commitments within the timelines and budgets you agree to with your team
• A close attention to details
• Native proficiency in English
• A portfolio of work samples showcasing your copywriting work
• The ability to think abstractly about our digital products and the content they offer as the channel for a conversation with our clients, a place where we exchange information both tactical and emotional
