Contract Duration: (6 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
Project Planning & Execution
• Creates transformational technology applications that reshape the business and create significant growth.
• Seeks out industry trends and organization knowledge to understand alternative approaches / solutions.
• Thinks creatively about opportunities to align bank offerings with future client needs.
• Facilitates joint planning with the client in the early stages of project formation.
• Integrates IT project plans at LOB/portfolio level creating estimating models as required, refines plan and manages performance against it.
• Facilitates schedule and cost forecasting and mentors team members in determining risk based provisions.
• Creates metrics and manages with a higher level of information i.e. at the trends and management indicator level; differentiates between project and portfolio metrics.
• Champions strong IT governance through the creation of a portfolio decision framework; mentors team members in their development and continuous improvement.
• Manages project scope using appropriate fact-based metrics/assumptions.
• Governance & oversight of all projects and management documents.
• Identifies and manages overall project costs and budgets.
• Anticipates and quantifies tactical, operational and strategic risks applying risk-based approach to forecasting.
• Resolves complex issues and conflicts (including architectural direction vs. project constraints); escalates to executive level where required.
• Resolves ambiguity.
• Facilitates the integration of technology solutions.
• Promotes innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implements best practices.
• Oversees projects closure initiatives.
• Develops operational management plan and implements in partnership with Operations
• Creates and executes change management plan including training and communication as required
• Ensures end to end project success including achievement of business benefits
• Actively mitigates security and privacy risks when dealing with sensitive data (e.g. comp)
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
Must Have:
• 5+ years’ Project Management experience with a focus on IT delivery
• Experience managing multiple projects of moderate to high value ($500K to $10MM) and moderate to high complexity and uncertainty, with executive communication
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. PMP certification
• Intermediate to Senior project management knowledge including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, analyzing, and reporting; risk and issue assessment and quantification methodologies; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management.
• Intermediate people management knowledge and leadership skills, including mentoring, talent management (recruitment / selection, performance management, performance development / coaching, reward / recognition)
• Solid knowledge of PMF, SDLC. Agile delivery methodologies (preferred)
