Project Lead / Manager (60146144)
 
Contract Duration: (12 months)
Location: Toronto, ON
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Provides project management of large scale, complex, high profile and high-risk projects for the Hospitals I&IT initiatives.
• Ensures project deliverables meet clients’ business requirements on time, scope and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with the Hospital project management methodologies and frameworks.
 
Required Qualifications/Experience
 
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Manager (Healthcare industry preferred)
• Leads organizational development, strategy development, business planning, and funding requests.
• Supports requirements gathering
• Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining a detailed work breakdown structure and project schedule/plan.
• Demonstrated experience developing complex project budgets based on multiple funding channels and cross ministry dependencies.
• Demonstrated experience effectively managing large project budgets and ensuring a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, forecasts and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed. Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to establish and participate in steering committee and stakeholder forums. Provide, project, program, and/or portfolio reporting to multi-stakeholders at senior executive levels.
• Demonstrated experience working with team members in various disciplines, managing roles and responsibilities and setting task/deliverable/performance expectations for resources.
• Ability to resolve resourcing and inter-personal conflicts, negotiating changes to resourcing while meeting project objectives.
• Experience using appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all project stages (Concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out).
• Promotes Hospital I&IT standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology and the control of the use of I&IT resources.
• Knowledge of and experience working with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and/or other privacy certifications would be a significant asset
• PMP and/or PMI-ACP certification required
• Graduate or post-graduate diploma in computer science or related field would be an asset
