We have an exciting opportunity in our Edmonton, AB office for an Information Management Functional Analyst to join our team.  This is a full time role supporting the project objective to migrate documents stored in a variety of systems to a central UCM (Universal Content Management) System.  The new system will feature a simplified classification method for documents which will ease in their retrieval. The role requires a high degree of professionalism and a structured approach to work with a range of knowledgeable senior stakeholders.
Work with a representative from each one of the 100 business areas that has to be migrated in the next 2 years, and guide them in classifying their shared files into a functional structure • Assist each representative in how to use a mapping tool that facilitates this classification and answer questions and help them understand best practices • Educate each business area on concepts of the functional model
• Help facilitate with the business and develop additional business-specific functional model structures that have not yet been completed
• Assist business areas in understanding the records classification structure as part of the classification
• Coordinate with the Senior Records Officer to verify questions and get validation on the mappings
• Report to Project Manager for project deliverables
• Attend Project Working Team meetings as member.

  • Strong Functional Analyst experience - 5+ years Knowledge of UCM (Universal Content Management) Systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills- 5 years experience-Expert level                         
  • Excellent client relationship skills-5 years experience-Expert level                         
  • Experience with the information classification functional model-2 years experience-Expert level                         
  • Strong facilitation skills for creating business functional model-2 years experience-Expert level                       
  • Experience working with Windows-based productivity tools-2 years experience-Expert level                         
  • Managing more than six concurrent, different commitments-1 year experience-Expert level                     
  • Understanding and explaining a records series-1 year experience-Expert level   

Nice to have:
Masters in MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science); either completed or in-progress Information Management training in AIIM (Association for Information Image Management) Information Management training in ARMA (Association of Records Managers and Administrators)
Developing functional models using business scope definitions-2 years experience-Expert level                         
Developing records structures-1 year experience-Expert level                     
Working on a content server or Oracle’s UCM/WCC-1 year experience-Expert level

Working at Government of Alberta-1 year experience-Familiarity level.
